Siroka Melniska

Melnik ( Bulgarian Мелнишко вино ) is the name of a Bulgarian grape variety. They actually called Schiroka Melnischka Losa ( Bulgarian Широка мелнишка лоза for "Wide Melnik Vine "). Melnik also called the red wine brand, which is grown in southwestern Bulgaria close to the Pirin Mountains ( there is also the town of Melnik ). In a survey of 2004, an area under vines of 4,700 hectares has been registered. Thus, the variety belongs to the most important red grape varieties in Bulgaria.
