Sixteen Stone is the debut album by British post-grunge band Bush. It was published in 1994 in Germany.

History

Sixteen Stone was published in 1994 as the grunge movement after the dissolution of their former flagship Nirvana seemed coming to an end. But Bush had with the release of Sixteen Stone are just beginning their careers.

The album was recorded Trauma Records in London, England for the unknown label. In Europe the album was initially received little attention. The big breakthrough came in the U.S., as the Los Angeles-based rock radio station KROQ the song Everything Zen played in heavy rotation. There followed a 18- month tour with more than 300 performances.

Glycerine

The music video for Glycerine was filmed when the band was on tour in the USA. They had very little time for the shoot, as the visa of the band was already expired. Nevertheless, the video was highly praised and won numerous awards, including the People's Choice Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1996. As the famous producer Desmond Child Glycerine heard, he thought that Rossdale is "Kiss the Rain" would sing. When he found out that this was not the case, he wrote a song called Kiss the Rain Billie Myers for. Kiss the Rain was Myers 's first single, and reached number 15 in the U.S. charts.
