Skarbek

Skarbek ( female form of the name Skarbka ) is the name of a Polish Uradelgeschlechts that was mentioned in the 11th century.

The progenitor of the Skarbek was Michael Skarbek from Gora. Jacob Skarbek proven under the Family Crest Abdank at the Battle of Grunwald and thereby brought the noble more influence in Poland - Lithuania. The nobility also brought forth a ducal branch, which still exists. The noble family owned numerous estates in Poland, including the village of Zelazowa Wola near Warsaw and took the time of the Polish- Lithuanian Commonwealth official posts such as that of Zamoyski, castellan or voivode one.
