Skiliftkarussell Winterberg
Skiliftkarussell Winterberg in Winterberg in North Rhine-Westphalia Hochsauerlandkreis is a winter sports resort in the Rothaargebirge. It has teamed up with neighboring ski resorts, including that at Altastenberg, the post Meadows ski resort in Neuastenberg and Willingen ski ticket for composite winter sports arena Sauerland.
The term "Carousel " refers to a continuous area from ski slopes and lifts - that with a ski area, several valleys and mountains connects comparable.
Geographical location
Skiliftkarussell is Rothaargebirge Nature Park west to south-west of Winterberg to about 590-810 m height. Lie in the carrying particularly from the Büre area - sorted by height in meters ( m) above mean sea level ( MSL ) - these mountains:

The lowest point is the valley station of the chair lift cap with 590 m, the highest point of the mountain station of a lift on the Bremberg (approx. 810 m ), since the Kahler Asten is not opened up to the summit with lifts.
Lifts and slopes
For winter 2013/14 season the ski area operator, according to data on a total of 25 lifts, including 23 facilities for skiing and 2 toboggan lifts. The transport capacity of all facilities adds up to around 37,000 people per hour and is generated mainly by high-capacity chairlifts. In Skiliftkarussell the first 8-seater chairlift Germany was put into service in 2012, having as a special feature built underground base station. The latest investment is a detachable 6-seater chair lift on the cap, which will be operational for the winter 2013/14. In the years 2010 to 2013 5 chair lifts, 1 surface lift and 1 conveyor belt were newly built and modernized a chairlift. Skiliftkarussell thus has the most advanced inventory and the highest number of chair lifts all German ski resorts.
The ski resort has 32 slopes according to operator data with a total length of 20.5 km. After the difficulty be 10 km, easy (blue ), 9 km classified as moderate (red) and 1.5 km as difficult (black). With 150 snow guns 28 slopes are snow canons to 19 km in length. One of the longest runs include the connection from Bremberggipfel to Büre ( 1.6 km ) and the forest clearing on the cap (1.2 km), the largest height difference to overcome the departures on the cap - slalom slope, forest clearing and panoramic tour - with roughly 180 m.
Other winter sports facilities
In Skiliftkarussell to other winter sports facilities, including the St. Georg ski jump located on the southwestern slope of Herrlohs and four other small ski jumps on the northwest slope, the Winterberg bobsleigh on the northeast edge of the cap and a cross-country stadium on Bremberg. The St. George's Lair, and the Winterberg bobsleigh be used for competitions. On the hill German Championships and the Summer Grand Prix Nordic combined have been played. On the bobsleigh competitions are held during the winter months in the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton; there the Wok World Championship was held several times as a television broadcast by ProSieben.
Summer use
In the summer, in particular, the area is used for tourism on the cap, including through a cycling park, a summer toboggan run and a walking bridge with viewing platforms on Skiliftkarussell. Here run a chairlift and one surface lift in the summer months for mountain bikers. The lift operator at Poppberg have set up in the summer months, the first German mountain board park. A drag lift and a chairlift transporting athletes to five different routes of varying difficulty, including a mountain boarder-cross course and a green slope.
Transport and Hiking
For Skiliftkarussell has direct access from the main roads 236 and 480, between winter and Neuastenberg form a common portion west of Winterberg here and run through the Herrlohtunnel. During the tunnel outlet areas of the three drag lifts operated ski slopes Herrloh under leads, crossed near the Bremberg a ski bridge and a chairlift to the joint federal road section.
