The Bremberg in Winterberg in the Sauerland district in North Rhine -Westphalia is a little more than 810 m above sea level. NHN high mountain of the Rothaargebirge.

Geography

Location

The Bremberg lies within the north-east from the center Rothaargebirge Rothaargebirge Nature Park. Its summit rises 2.5 km west-southwest of Winterberg's city center, 2 km east of Winterberg town part Altastenberg, 1 km west-southwest of Popp Berg ( 745.8 m) and 1.3 km (as the crow flies) north-northeast of the Kahler Asten ( 841.9 m ).

Rhine -Weser watershed

About the Bremberg runs the Rhine -Weser watershed: The water of the east springing from the mountain Büre flows through the nameless and Negroes in the west aspiring Rhine - Ruhr Creek. That the south-west swells from Bremberg Renau opens directly into the Negro. Both opposed the waters of the south springing from the mountain Sonneborn flows through the Nuhne, Eder and Fulda in the north extending Weser.

Mountain height

The Bremberg is just over 810 meters high. Approximately 65 m south-southwest of its summit can be found on topographic maps below two drawn around the peak contour lines the elevation 810.0 m ( ⊙ 51.1898055555568.4951388888889 ).

Nature Spatial allocation

The Bremberg heard in the physiographic feature unit group Süder Bergland (No. 33) in the main unit Rothaargebirge ( with Sauerland ) ( 333) and in the subunit Winterberg Highlands ( 333.5 ) for natural space Astenberg ( 333.54 ).

Reserves

West of Brembergs lies the nature reserve Gutmecke and Renau ( CDDA-Nr. 389 755; reported 2008; 98 hectares ) with dortigem Fauna- Flora-Habitat area Hunau, Upper Negertal, Renautal and Steinberg ( FFH-Nr. 4716-301, 14, 98 km ²). To the south, the NSG is Günnighauser Mark ( CDDA-Nr. 164 022; 1965; 2.27 km ²) with dortigem FFH ravine forest fear Becke and Günninghauser Mark ( FFH-Nr. 4817-302; 246 ha). FFH-Nr. with dortigem FFH Kahler Asten ( 4816 in the south-south, just beyond the saddle, which leads to lying there Kahler Asten, lies the NSG Kahler Asten ( landscape plan Winterberg) (48 ha CDDA-Nr. 82021; ; 1965) -303, 53 ha). On the Bremberg, parts of the landscape conservation area are part of the territory of the town of Winterberg ( CDDA-Nr. 325127; 1994; 75.32 km ²).

Winter sports

On and around the Bremberg is a part of the area Skiliftkarussell winter mountain with trails and a cross-country skiing stadium where many international competitions take place. Especially the east and south sides are accessible by four lifts with affiliate thereof ski slopes. At the eastern foothills of the mountain are a toboggan run and a small, now disused ski jump.

Transport and Hiking

South to south-east past the Bremberg runs a common portion of the Winterberg core city passing federal highways 236 and 480, just south of the mountain branches off the main road leading westward to Altastenberg 640 of that in the transition region to the Kahler Asten. At this junction, and also close to the east of the mountain springing Büre are large parking lots, the walkers and among other things, visitors to the ski carousel Winterberg serve as a starting point and destination in the region. Southeast past the Bremberg leads the Rothaarsteig and south and west of the mountain by the European long-distance path E1 is passed.
