Skin (Japanese band)

Skin ( or SKIN ) is a Japanese supergroup, founded between 2006 and 2007 jointly by Yoshiki Hayashi and Gackt in Los Angeles, California. A little later Sugizo and Miyavi were presented as additional members. Since their first and so far only concert in June 2007, there were no further publications or announcements regarding the future of the group.

Band History

In August 2006, Yoshiki Hayashi (founding member, drummer and pianist of X Japan) at Otakon 2006 anime convention in the United States announced that he think about forming a band together with Gackt ( former singer of Malice Mizer ). In December of the same year it was confirmed that Sugizo (guitarist of Luna Sea ) could join as a possible third member of the group. On 25 May 2007 the formation of the band on the J- Rock Revolution festival in Los Angeles was given definitively known. In addition to the three previously announced members also Miyavi (former member of Due'le quartz ) was presented as a guitarist. Yoshiki confirmed that the group plans to release an album and have been the first recordings for it in March 2007.

On 29 June 2007 Skin gave their first and only concert at Anime Expo in Long Beach, California. Due to the lack of a permanent bassist and they were during the performance of Ju - Ken, who was working as a musician for GacktJob previously supported.
