Rossignol is a French, founded around 1907 public limited company ( SA). The company manufactures skis, snowboards and winter sports accessories. By 1950 Rossignol also produced everyday clothing. 2005 Rossignol teamed up with Quiksilver Inc..

Merger with Quiksilver

Is also planned a public takeover offer for all Rossignol shares at a price of 19 euros per share. The previous main shareholder of Rossignol, Laurent Boix- Vives, is a board member of Quiksilver and president of Roger Cleveland Golf Company, Inc., a company specializing in Golf daughter of Rossignol. The merger of the two companies with their global brands and complementary activities will help create a big supplier in outdoor. The outdoor market includes equipment and clothing for sports and leisure activities that are carried out under the open sky.

Rossignol and Quiksilver

Quiksilver covers mainly from the outdoor activities at sea, whereas Rossignol is primarily for the mountains. The resulting 2005 Group will cover all of the outdoor activities (snow, sea, city and country) and should draw on brands such as Rossignol, Quiksilver, Dynastar, LOOK, Lange, Roxy and DC Shoes as well as a growth in the textile business.

Rossignol stroked 2009, about one-third of the bodies and took 2010 a part of the ski production from abroad back to France, where currently working 700 from a total of 1200 employees. The 77 % stake in the Australian investment fund Macquarie is to be taken over by the Norwegian investment fund Altor July 2013, when the competition authority agrees.
