Skorenovac

Skorenovac ( Serbian Cyrillic Скореновац; German: Skorenowatz; Hungarian: Székelykeve ) is a village in the municipality of Kovin, in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina.

Geography

The nearest large towns are Kovin (approx. 6 km), Smederevo (approx. 17 km), Pančevo (approx. 30 km) and Belgrade (about 46 km).

History

General History

Between 1869 and 1886 there was a village called Gyurgyova - Rádayfalva ( Đurdevo ) between Banatski Brestovac and the Danube. 1869 there lived 396 people. The original settlement was made by Hungarian families ( palóc ) from Banatsko Novo Selo (Hungarian: Újfalu ) Jermenovci (Hungarian: Ürményháza ) Sándorfalva. Beginning in 1883, it came to the influx Székelys with a total of 645 families and about 2,000 people.

In 1886 the population of the village was moved to its present Skorenovac and Ivanovo. Reason for the move was the flooding of the Danube and the related annual destruction of land in the village. The village of Skorenovac ( at that time called Székelykeve ) was founded in 1886 at the time of Franz Joseph I.. In the period of village settlement, the area was in the county Torontál the Kingdom of Hungary. In 1888 the village had 506 houses and 1910 it had 685 houses. From 1912 it belonged to the county Temes.

The majority of the original settlers were Székely, who came from Bukovina. And also several German families from Plandište ( German: Zychidorf ) and Pločica and some Bulgarian families from Dudeştii Vechi (Hungarian: Óbesenyö, German: Altbeschenowa, Banat Bulgarian: Star Bisnov ) settled in the same period in Skorenovac.

Since 1918, the village belonged to the newly formed Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, renamed the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929.

Economy, religion and Schulpan

In 1885 the first permanent teacher came into the village and Gyurgyova 1886 Skorenovac. His name was János Mischel. 1886 was the first judge and mayor of Skorenovac Agoston Kollár ( 1886-1890 ).

In 1889 the construction of the school was terminated. The teachers in the school were: Johan Steiner ( principals and teachers ), János Mischel (teacher), Ottlilia Müller ( teacher) and Etelka Somogyi (teacher). In the school year 1905/1906 the school had 561 students. The primary school was at this time to grade 6. The members of the school board in the 1930s were Imre László, Mihály Feher, Francz winter Gerst, Bóna Boszilkov, József András Varga and Medgyessy.

On December 18, 1892 a church ( Roman Catholic) was built. The first pastor was Ferenc Deleme ( 1892-1898 ). On November 25, 1894, the Farmers' Creditors Association was founded; he had 71 members; President was Fr Ferenc Deleme. On October 6, 1895, the establishment of a library that had 50 members took place. President was Ferenc Deleme, although János Hajagos was the librarian. In 1898, the first doctor in the village was Dr. József Klein. A year later, in 1899, the volunteer fire department was established; whose president was Kirchgäsner Johan and the fire chief was Johan Mischel. The fire department had 60 members. Another year later, in 1900, came Dr. Edet Urbanek, the first durable doctor at the village.

In 1906, the hunter covenant with 14 members was launched. Founders were Gyula Szabatka and Dezsö Töry. 1912 was the opening of the first motorized Great mill owner was Katalin Rüger. The mill ran until the mid -1970s, when it was closed. On April 27, 1913, the Community of Federal consumer was founded. President was Wikel Aladar and the federal government had 128 members. In the same year a goods shop opened.

In 1924, the Red Cross began with humanitarian work, but the official founding of the organization in 1931, the organization had 57 members.; its president was Dr. László Imre. 1925, the Cultural Association (Hungarian: Kultúrszövetség ) was founded. Until 1948 it was known as KUD Petofi Sándor. 1932 saw the establishment of handicraft Federal Bircsák with András, a shoemaker, as president.

On 14 June 1932, the football club was founded Kék Duna (Cyrillic Plavi Dunav ). President was Milivoj Durkin and Vice - President Dr. László Imre. Players were: Antal Fazekas, János Szirák, Stanko Erdeljan, József Borsos, János Brasnyó, József Boszilkov, Hubert Pubi, István Kiss, Imre galactose, Tamás Jung, Dezsö Kovacevic, István Urbán, Imre Komáromi, János Migléci, Mile Peric, Duro Stanisavljević and Slavko Ivkov.

Origin of the Székely settlers

The names of the villages in Bukovina, where the Székely settlers arrived, are ( in Hungary with its Romanian equivalent ): Istensegits (Romanian: Tibeni ) Fogadjisten (Romanian: Iacobeşti ) Hadikfalva (Romanian: Dornesti ) Józseffalva (Romanian: Vornicenii Mici ) and Andrasfalva (Romanian: Măneuţi ). The villages are now part of Romania Suceava County; the nearest large towns are Rădăuţi and Botosani.

The Székely people, who settled in Skorenovac, Ivanovo and Vojlovica, were originally from the village Madéfalva ( rum: Siculeni ) in the district of Csik (Harghita ), ( Transylvania ), now in Romania.

Famous villagers

Zoltán Dani, the ethnic Hungarian commander of a Serbian anti-aircraft battery, which a camouflaged United States Air Force F -117 Nighthawk shot down by type, the only F- 117, which was ever lost in battle.
