Slash's Snakepit

Slash's Snakepit was a rock band from the USA, which was founded by Slash mid-1990. Slash became world known as the guitarist of the band Guns N ' Roses. Slash's Snakepit published a total of two albums, with the first and second album strongly distinguished the members of the band and only Slash decisively participated in both plants.

"It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" (1995 )

The majority of the songs of "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere " was written by Slash and former Guns N 'Roses members Gilby Clarke, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum originally for the follow up album of 1993 appeared Guns N ' Roses album The Spaghetti Incident? written. GN'R - Frotmann Axl Rose leaned from this, however. Then Slash formed the side project Snakepit and dedicated as the lead singer and songwriter of the hitherto relatively unknown Eric Dover, who had previously appeared as guitarist of the band Jellyfish in appearance. 1995 saw the debut, in which in addition to Dover and the Guns N 'Roses members Slash, Clarke, Sorum and keyboardist Dizzy Reed Alice grossed the bass part in Chains member Mike Inez, since Duff McKagan, presumably due to fears Rauswurfs at Guns N' Roses, renounced. Shortly before the release of the album Axl Rose threatened with a lawsuit against Slash, to prevent this, as the guitarist for allegedly stealing song material from Guns N ' Roses. Slash insisted but to using it in his own band, which eventually led to the break between Slash and Rose and the departure of guitarist for Guns N ' Roses. In February 1995, the album was finally released from Guns N 'Roses Geffen label, garnered industry-wide appreciative reviews and successfully entered the Top 20 on the album charts in Germany and the UK.

The name of the band ( " snake pit " ) goes back to the nickname for the Home Studio Slash, in which most of the songs on the first album were created. The idea for the title of the album was Slash by a bartender at an airport during the " Use your Illusion " world tour, which is known for bringing excessive alcohol consumption guitarist on the appointment of a hard drinks in the morning with a dry " Well, it 's five o 'clock somewhere " replied what loosely translated means something like" Who cares "means.

During the subsequent tour were from the cast album only Slash, who is now fired with Guns N 'Roses Gilby Clarke and singer Eric Dover involved.
