Slovak Airlines

Slovak Airlines ( Slovenské aerolínie, as) was provided as the national airline of Slovakia. The company is the airport of the capital Bratislava. From the year 1995, thinking about the creation of a Slovak airline. On 1 May 1998, the first flight to Moscow took place.

The flight was closed down on 30 January 2007 due to financial constraints. The bankruptcy was brought to a Slovak court on 2 March 2007.

History

After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, Slovakia saw an abandoned situation. There was no more airlines, connecting Slovakia with the rest of the world. The CSA was a purely Czech airlines now. Thus, it was thought from the year 1995 on the establishment of a national airline, after several experts, among others, in cooperation with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation ) were in agreement that it is possible to establish a national carrier. 1996 Slovenské was aerolínie, as was established as a limited company. On 14 April 2000, the first flight for the United Nations was held in the framework of UNICEF to Karachi and Pristina. On April 16, Slovenské aerolínie was the official airline for the Slovakian national football team. On 1 December, the President of the Slovak Republic Rudolf Schuster flew for the first time with SLL ( from Bratislava to Košice ). As of May 2004, there was an intensive cooperation with Austrian Airlines. In January 2005, the Austrian Airlines Group acquired 62 % stake in Slovenské aerolínie, which SLL a member of the AAG was.
