Slovak Philharmonic

The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra (Slovak Slovenská filharmónia ) in Bratislava is the most important orchestras of Slovakia.

The orchestra was founded in 1949 by the internationally renowned conductor Václav Talich and Ľudovít Rajter. One of the founders was also Oskar Nedbal. Outside of the annual concert season it goes on each tour and plays at various festivals in Europe. Further stations were previously, Turkey, Japan and the United States. The orchestra regularly appears on radio and television and has recorded numerous records, including for OPUS, Supraphon, Panton, Hungaroton, JVC Victor, RCA Records, Pacific Music and Naxos Records.

The Reduta Concert Hall, where the orchestra resided since the early 1950s, is a Baroque-style building from 1773, which once served as a granary. With the change in the years 1913-1919 several Rococo and Art Nouveau elements were added. In the concert hall find 700 spectators.

Concert organ

The large concert organ was built in 2012 by the organ builder Rieger ( Austria ). The instrument has 66 registers on three manual and pedal works. It can allude of a ( mechanical ) the main console and a mobile ( electric ) game table. The Registertrakturen electrically.
