The Slovak Central Mountains ( Slovenské Slow stredohorie ) is a mountain range in the south of central Slovakia of about 70 x 80 km. It is primarily a geomorphological unit is because in everyday use, the term of lesser importance. The Slovak mountain range is part of the Inner Western Carpathians. It is bounded

The mountain range is divided into the following geomorphological subunits:
- Vtáčnik ( Bird Mountain )
- Pohronský Inovec,
- Štiavnica Hills ( Selmec mountains )
- Kremnicke Hills ( Kremnica Hills )
- Polana,
- Ostrôžky,
- Javorie,
- Krupinská Planina,
- Zvolenska kotlina
- Pliešovská kotlina
- Žiarska kotlina.
The highest elevation is the Polana with 1458 m.
In the mountain range, there are three long-range nature reserves - protected landscape areas Polana, Ponitrie and Štiavnica Hills.
