Snafu (Band)

Snafu was a British rock band of the 1970s. She married British rhythm and blues with American West Coast and Country Rock.

History

Snafu was of Bobby Harrison, 1967, at the first occupation of Procol Harum and Micky Moody, guitarist with Juicy Lucy, along with Terry Popple, formerly drummer with Van Morrison, Colin Gibson, bassist with Ginger Baker 's Air Force and keyboardist Pete Solley in autumn established in 1972. Their first album SNAFU they took in Richard Branson's The Manor Studio on at the same time, which also includes the there working on Tubular Bells then unknown Mike Oldfield. After recording their second album Situation Normal with clear country influence they toured as the opening act for Emerson, Lake and Palmer in the USA. However, this was viewed in retrospect as a mistake.

During the recording sessions for the third album All Funked Up Pete Solley left the band, Procol Harum in order to join. He was replaced by Brian Chatton and shortly thereafter by Tim Hinkley. Micky Moody joined David Coverdale and after a brief stint of Clem Clempson, the band broke up.

The title of the second and third album almost correspond to the text of the acronym SNAFU.
