Snub Pollard

Snub Pollard, actually Harold Fraser ( born November 9, 1889 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, † January 19, 1962 in Burbank, California, United States) was an Australian actor.

Life

Snub Pollard was born as Harold Fraser in Melbourne. With an Australian vaudeville theater group he went around 1910 on tour in the United States. When the group fell apart, Pollard remained in the States. The film producer and director Hal Roach discovered him and put him first in 1915 as an actor in a short film comedy one. From then on he played in comedies and westerns with. His acting partners were among others Harold Lloyd, Charley Chase, Bebe Daniels, and later Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Especially the series of over 80 Lonesome Luke films with Harold Lloyd made ​​him known. The mustachioed Pollard was seen in more than 180 silent films.
