Sodeto

Sodeto is a Spanish village in the municipality of Tubo de Alberuela the Comarca (administrative unit ) Monegros, Huesca province in the Autonomous Region of Aragon.

Geography

Sodeto had 2011 228 inhabitants. The village lies at 330 m above sea level. Through an irrigation canal water is brought up, which allows an intensive agriculture. In addition, operating on very dry soils livestock.

History

1950 Sodeto was built as the new foundation of the Instituto Nacional de Desarrollo Rural de Colonización y, founded after the Civil War in 1939 National Institute for Colonization and Rural Development as a planned system. The undeveloped territory until then had belonged to the estates of the Duke of Villahermosa.

Christmas Lottery 2011

The Spanish Christmas Lottery 2011 brought a total profit of € 120 million for Sodeto and other villages in the area. In Sodeto all residents had purchased up to an at least one lot, to the respective one win € 50,000 was omitted.
