Soil (band)

SOiL is an American alternative metal band from Chicago, Illinois.

History

Soil was founded in 1997 and 1998 was the debut album El Chupacabra in stores. This as well as the successor Throttle Junkies, but the claim was not of great interest. The international breakthrough came with the third album Scars, which was published in 2001. Soil earned in a very long tour the reputation of being a great live band. 2009, the album " Picture Perfect " was released. Soil is characterized by a hard, but also emotional and melodic sound as well as by the very versatile voice of the singer, Ryan McCombs from. However, this left the band in 2004. Ryan McCombs was from 2005 singer of Drowning Pool until his return to SOiL in October 2011.

On November 11, 2007, guitarist Shaun Glass during the recordings for a new album the band. SOiL remain four of us and will look for a replacement.

On 20 October 2009, the band released their album Picture Perfect, that was distributed in Europe via AFM Records and in the rest of the world via Bieler Bros. Records. It was created by Johnny K ( Disturbed, Staind ) and Ulrich Wild ( Deftones, Incubus ) and mixed by Dave Fortman ( Mudvayne, Evanescence ) mixed.

July 20, 2012 it was announced that singer AJ Cavalier and drummer Tom Schofield have dropped out of the band. As a replacement shortly singer Jordan Lee and drummer Mike Tognino came along for the ride.

After McCombs had joined the band again, SOiL went with Puddle of Mudd on co-headlining tour of the UK. In addition, SOiL have with the former drummer Jon Wysocki Staind also found a successor on drums.

In 2012, the band released their first live DVD Re -LIVE - ing The Scars.

The new album, entitled Whole appeared on 20 August 2013.
