Sophie of Solms-Laubach

Sophie of Solms- Laubach (* May 15, 1594 in Laubach, † May 16 1651 in Plötzkau ).

Sophie of Solms- Laubach was married to the Margrave Joachim Ernst of Brandenburg- Ansbach from 1612. Her parents were Johann Georg I, Count of Solms - Laubach (1547-1600) and Margarethe von Schoenburg - Glauchau ( 1554-1606 ).

After her husband's death, she took over in 1625 the Margraviate of Brandenburg -Ansbach, the guardianship and regency for her still underage son Frederick. After this had fallen in 1634, shortly after reaching his majority, at the Battle of Nördlingen, they continued this activity for their son Albrecht continued until its maturity in 1639. In the exercise of the reign she was up in 1639 by Friedrich zu Solms - supported Roedelheim.
