South Africa women's national football team

The South African national soccer team of women representing South Africa in international women's football. The national reports to the South African Football Association and is coached by Joseph Mkhonza since December 2010. The South African selection took have never participated in a World Championship. In the Africa Championships she won four times second place. The South African team was - in comparison to other African teams - already several games against teams from other than African. But doing so they achieved only three wins, 7 March 2009 in a 2-0 in Nicosia against Scotland, on July 15, 2009 in Amsterdam against Switzerland ( 3-2 ) and on March 4, 2012 in Paralimni against Northern Ireland (2-0 ). In 2011, the team failed to qualify for the Olympics for the first time. There, the team met to Canada ( 0:3 ) and the first time world champion Japan (0-0 ) and Sweden ( 1:4). As a group, the Last team was eliminated in the first round. The only goal for the South Africans scored Portia Modise, who is African record national with 104 games.
