South American Basketball Championship 1947

The Basketball South American Championship 1947, the thirteenth Basketball South American Championship, took place between May 31 and June 17, 1947 held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which hosted the championship for the third time. Winner was the national team of Uruguay that could win the title for the fourth time.

Each team played against each opponent once so that each team five games ( a total of 15 games were held ) had to be completed. Pro victory, there were two points for a defeat at least one point. In case of equality, the direct comparison decided. Only case of a tie for first place, there would have been a decisive final game. The team with the most points were South American champions in 1947.
