Uruguay national basketball team
The Uruguayan national basketball team represents the Republic of Uruguay in international matches or friendlies. Your greatest successes so far achieved the national team of Uruguay at the Olympic Summer Games in 1952 and 1956 by winning the bronze medal. Uruguay also won in 1930 as the first national basketball national team in South America in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, the first discharged Basketball America Championship. At the World Championships to the best result for the first participation with the sixth place in 1954, after yet withdrew participation in the first World Cup short term. After the first four world championships were all carried out on the South American continent, it was even host the global finals in Montevideo in the 1967 World Cup. But since the 1960s, you could not connect to the early successes in the 1950s on a global scale.
