Reception
If published, the album polarized very strong and misled some critics to harsh Panned:
" [ This] record is a soulless void [ ... ] I would rather drown choking in a bath full of porridge than ever listen to it again." " [This ] album is a soulless void. [ ... ] I'd rather suffocate in a bath full of mush as ever to hear again. "
In retrospect, the album is, however, rated significantly more positive. Pitchfork Media gave the album about the occasion of the re -releases of Slowdive discography with 9.3/10.0 points on the one hand a very good rating and at the same time the highest rating of three studio albums by Slowdive.
In Allmusic the album gets in retrospect four and a half out of five.
