Slowdive
Slowdive is a British shoegazing band.
Style
Slowdive were stylistically particularly influenced by noise rock bands such as Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, but also by Gothic and Dark Wave groups like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure and Cocteau Twins. They played music that has been described by critics as "like falling into a hole" - mainly they used guitars to create a sound carpet before entered the actual songwriting in the background. From 1993, her style changed progressively and were increasingly incorporated ambient and electronica elements into the songs.
Band History
According Slowdives official website all the original members are planning concerts as Slowdive at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and in London's Village Underground in 2014. Below are the first joint concerts of all members since 21 May 1994. Rehearsals took place in Reading, new songs could be recorded. This Slowdive is officially reunited.
