Spartakiad (Soviet Union)

The Spartakiade the peoples of the USSR or shortly Peoples Spartakiade (Russian Спартакиада народов СССР ) from 1956 to 1991 multi-sport event in the Soviet Union. There was a summer and a winter Peoples Spartakiade. The contests of the Sommerspartakiade were often not at the same time held in individual sports at one place, but in a timely manner at different times in different places. The Winterspartakiade found for all sports, however, largely at the same time in one place instead.

Winter Peoples Spartakiade

  • II finals in Sverdlovsk, Gorky, Terskol and Kiev in March 1966;
  • III finals in Sverdlovsk in March 1974;
  • IV finals in Sverdlovsk in March 1978;
  • V finals in Krasnoyarsk from 4 to 16 March 1982
  • VI finals in Krasnoyarsk from February 24 to March 11, 1986;
  • VII finals in Kiev in 1990.

Spartakiade 1928

In 1928, organized the Red Sport International (RSI ) in Moscow international Spartakiade. It traveled 600 workers athletes and officials from 12 countries workers. These were very much less than the organizers had hoped the RSI. Werner soul Binder won the 1st place in his weight class rings.
