Stacey Kent

Stacey Kent ( born March 27, 1968 in South Orange, New Jersey) is an Anglo-American jazz singer and is considered by many as one of the best jazz vocal talents of her generation.

Life and work

Kent moved to their language and literature studies to London to continue his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Their first CD Close Your Eyes was released in 1997. Since then she has published nearly a year more albums. In 2001 she was awarded the British Jazz Award and 2002 with the BBC Jazz Award in the category Best singer. Lyric was 2006 "Album of the Year" by the BBC Jazz Awards. The album Breakfast on the Morning Tram ( 2007) reached gold status in France and Germany (as she was awarded the German Jazz Award). Also Raconte - Moi by 2010, according to " Top 30 Jazz albums" of the Media Control Charts in Germany a best-selling album.

Kent is married with saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, who also arranged for their albums.
