The Stade de la Route de Lorient ( German stadium at Lorient Street) is a football stadium in Rennes, France, the largest city in Brittany. The football club Stade Rennes plays its home games from here.

History

The stadium was inaugurated on 15 September 1912. An enlargement took place in 1999 and was completed five years later. Since then, the capacity of 29 778 seats. For the inauguration of the new stadium the friendly match between France and Bosnia - Herzegovina ( Result 1-1) was held there on 16 September 2004. On June 2, 2007 took place there for the first time the otherwise celebrated in Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire Celtic Night ( Nuit celtique ) instead.

A record crowd there was on August 20, 2005 29,490 guests at a game between Stade Rennes and Olympique Marseille.
