Staffan Tällberg

Curt Staffan Tällberg ( born April 17, 1970 in Bollnäs ) is a former Swedish ski jumper.

Career

Tällberg was December 30, 1986 as part of the prelude to jumping Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 in Oberstdorf his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. All jumping the tour he finished lower ranks. At the beginning of the season 1987/88 he was able to achieve a place in the top ten with the 6th place in the first jump on the normal hill in Sapporo. A day later, he succeeded on the large hill with a 3rd place podium for the first time. In the Four Hills Tournament 1987/88 he could also jump on the podium in Oberstdorf and Garmisch -Partenkirchen. At the Junior World Cup in 1988 in Saalfelden, he won the silver medal on the normal hill. Shortly thereafter he was also Swedish Champion of the normal hill. At the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 Tällberg jumped from the normal and large hill on the 8th Place. In the team competition, he was together with Anders Daun Jan Boklöv and his brother Per-Inge Tällberg Seventh. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti Tällberg jumped on the normal hill on the 26th and on the large hill on the 19th Place. In the team competition, he reached the 5th place with the team. At the Junior World Cup in 1989 Tällberg could again win the bronze medal on the normal hill. After the World Cup, it took some time before he was able to continue and old services again. It was only on January 12, 1990 he succeeded in Harrachov again the leap into the top ten. On March 17, 1991, he was the first to jump at Holmenkollen in Oslo with the 3rd place podium finish before he could celebrate just six days later in Planica ski flying at his first and only World Cup victory. The following season he managed the jump in Sapporo and in Predazzo once again on the podium. Then top rankings were rare. 1996 Tällberg ended his active ski jumping career.
