Stand by Your Man is a country song by Tammy Wynette and Billy Sherrill, which was sung by Tammy Wynette and released as a single in the U.S. in September 1968. It was the most successful publication Wynettes and has been widely gecovert.

History

The song was written after an idea by producer Billy Sherrill Wynettes in the Epic studio in just about 15 minutes:

" Stand by Your Man 'is just another way of saying ' I love you -without reservations. (...) I spent 15 minutes writing [ " Stand by Your Man ' ], and a lifetime defending it. "

The song reached number one on the end of 1968, U.S. country charts and stayed there for three weeks. In the U.S. pop chart, the song reached # 19 When the piece was published in 1975 in the UK, it reached number 1 there, too, there was quite a successful 1968 album of the same name.
