Stanislav Šesták [ Stanislaf ʃɛsta ː k] ( born December 16, 1982 in Prešov ) is a Slovak football player. Since the 2011/12 season, the striker is at Bursaspor under contract.

Career

Association

Stanislav Šesták joined in January 2002 by FC 1 Tatran Prešov to ŠK Slovan Bratislava. There he played until December 2003, before he went to MŠK Žilina, Slovak champion in 2007 were with him. With 15 goals, he was the second best shooter of the Slovak League in the season 2006/07. In three seasons for MŠK Žilina Stanislav Sestak scored 45 goals in 72 games. At the beginning of the season 2007 /08 right footed moved into the Ruhr to VfL Bochum. He signed a four year contract there until 2011. The 1,79 m wide and 72 kg striker replaced the former migrated to Leverkusen Striker VfL and scorer of the season 2006/ 07, the Greek national team Theofanis Gekas. The former league manager of VfL Bochum Stefan Kuntz was quoted as follows: "With Sestak we got a fast and flexible attacker who has found his scoring touch for years to prove. We think that it is our requirement needs in every way. " Stanislav Šesták met a total of 28 times in the Bundesliga and was also in the 2007/08 season with 13 goals and 9 assists third-best scorer in the league, behind Bavaria's Luca Toni and Bremen Diego. On April 11, 2009, within 27 minutes he scored his first hat-trick in the Bundesliga, in the match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. National

Stanislav Šesták so far played 41 times for the Slovak national team. His first goal he scored on October 13, 2007 against San Marino. In qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2010, he scored six goals in six games and helped Slovakia to the first World Cup participation so since independence. At the World Cup he came to three inserts.
