The man from another planet is an American science fiction television series that was produced 1986-1987 ABC.

The series, of which only the first 20 parts were dubbed into German, is based on John Carpenter's movie Starman with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen from the year 1984. Executive producer was in both the movie and in the TV series Michael Douglas.

Action

The series takes place 15 years after the film and is about the return of the aliens in the body of a freshly killed in a helicopter crash photo journalist named Paul Edward Forester. This would his son Scott, he "visit" begat the first help to find his lost mother, Jenny Hayden.

Each episode is about how father and son from place to place, pull to find Scott's mother; yet they are always on the run from the government in incarnation by the FSA Agent George Fox and Wylie. In a double episode ( Starscape ), the two finally find Scott's mother, Jenny Hayden in Arizona where these lives as an artist under the name Karen Iseley. After this double episode another episode even aired ( The Test ), which tried as a " cliffhanger " episode, to prepare the way for the second season of the series. However, the show was canceled due to low viewership.

Background

The series is a similar concept to series such as The Fugitive, The Incredible Hulk or Pretender. In all series, the protagonists are pursued or hunted down and change from episode to episode their whereabouts.
