Steel Prophet

Steel Prophet is an American power metal band from Middletown, Connecticut, was founded in 1983.

History

The band was founded by guitarist Steve Kachinsky Blakmoor, singer Gary Stocking, bassist Wayne Faircloth and drummer Harry Blackwell, son of jazz drummer Ed Blackwell, in 1983. Blackwell left the band a little later and was replaced by John " JT " Tarascio. Stocking had to leave the band due to his heavy alcohol consumption also. Blakmoor and Tarascio moved in 1988 to California, where Vince Dennis came as the new bassist and Scott Lindsenbardt as the new vocalist, as well as Domenic Chavira as second guitarist for the band. Lindsenbardt also soon left the band again and was replaced by Nick Mantis, which was in turn replaced because of drug problems by Rick Mythiasin. Mythiasin had already worked before with Pantera. At Chaviras agency came guitarist Jon Paget. Then the band went into the studio to record a demo. From 1990 to 1992 was followed by appearances in the Los Angeles area. Then Paget has been replaced by Horacio Colmenares. Then, the band released their debut album The Goddess Principle in 1995. Continuum After the EP was released in 1996, Tarascio and Colmenares left the band. Pete Parada came as the new drummer and John Pons as the new guitarist for the band. Into the Void ( Hallucinogenic Conception ) was published in 1997 as the next album, which Steel Prophet reached a deal with Nuclear Blast. Dark Hallucinations appeared m 1999 when this label. Then followed a tour through Europe. Before the year 2000 was released the next album called Messiah, Parada left the band and was initially replaced by drummer Kevin Cafferty. Karl Rosqvist replaced this in turn shortly thereafter. After the release of the album guitarist Pons left the band and was replaced by Jim Williams. In subsequent years, appeared with Book of the Dead (2001 ) Unseen (2002) and Beware ( 2004) three more albums.

Style

The band plays classic U.S. Power Metal, which is comparable to the music of groups like Agent Steel or Onward.
