Ștefan Barbu

Ştefan Barbu (born 2 March 1908 in Arad, Austria - Hungary, † June 30, 1970 ) was a Romanian football player. To avoid confusion with a surname cousin, he was led into the Romanian sports press Barbu II. He played 77 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1930.

Career

Ştefan Barbu began in 1920 in his home town of Arad in Arad with the Olympic soccer games and joined a year later the local rivals Gloria Arad. This merged in 1922, which was founded in 1921, CFR Arad at Gloria CFR Arad, in which Barbu from 1925 belonged to the first team and he remained faithful until 1929 .. After two seasons at Olympia Arad in 1932, he returned back to Gloria CFR to the September 11, 1932 to give the win against Cluj România his debut in the newly established Romanian professional league, the Divizia A,.
