Stefan Ilsanker

Stefan Ilsanker ( born July 6, 1965 in Berchtesgaden ) is a former German luger. He celebrated at the side of Georg Hackl in the 1980s, international success in doubles.

Stefan Ilsanker launched for the toboggan Club Berchtesgaden. In the 1985/86 season Hackl / Ilsanker took third place in the overall World Cup. In the following season they were behind Thomas Schwab and Wolfgang Staudinger Second the vote. At the World Championships in Igls, they won behind the double Jörg Hoffmann and Jochen Pietzsch from the GDR the silver medal. Also in the 1987/88 season were Hackl / Ilsanker, now behind Yevgeny Belousov and Alexander Beljukow Second the overall World Cup. Highlight of the season was the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, where she missed in fourth place when just a medal. One last successful season drove the double Hackl / Ilsanker 1989/90. In the overall World Cup they came to the third place, the team competition at the European Championships in 1990, they won with John Schettel, Jana Bode and Margit pair behind the team from the GDR, the silver medal in the team competition.

National were Thomas Schwab and Wolfgang Staudinger, the biggest competitor of Stefan Ilsanker and Georg Hackl. While Schwab / Staudinger repeatedly performed better in international races, Hackl / Ilsanker were able to achieve at the federal level, the German major successes. 1986, 1987, 1989 and 1990 won the double the German championship title.
