Ştefan Negrişan ( born September 9, 1958 in Peceneaga, Tulcea County ) is a former Romanian wrestler and world champion in 1985.

Career

Ştefan Negrişan began as a teenager with the rings. After initial successes at national level, he became the best team in CS Farul Constanta delegated and trained there by coach Constantin Ofiţerescu to a peak Ringer international format in the Greco- Roman style. Negrişan started in lightweight, in the weight class, which was dominated by Olympic champion in Romania Ştefan Rusu long years. He therefore had to wait with its first use in an international championship until 1982, when Ştefan Rusu aufrückte in the welterweight division.

His debut at the European Championships in Varna succeeded, because he became vice European champion at lightweight behind the Soviet athletes Gennadi Yermilov. Also at the World Championships the same year in Katowice won Negrişan with the " Bronze " medal. All in all a very successful year for the already 29 -year-old debutant Ştefan Negrişan.

The following year, 1983 Ştefan had no such great successes like 1982. At the European Championships in Budapest, he missed the 4th place just a medal and at the World Championships in Kiev, he only came on the 7th Place.

1984 Negrişan was in Jönköping after a final defeat by the Soviet athletes Mikhail Prokudin as early as 1982 Vice European champion at lightweight. At the Olympic Games the same year in Los Angeles for the conditions to win a medal for Negrişan were very good, because many socialist countries boycotted these games. Negrişan but missed the chance because he was defeated in the pool finale against Vlado Lisjak from Yugoslavia and was surprised by the American James Martinez in the fight for the bronze medal and set after 25 seconds duration struggle on the shoulders.

After this disappointment was the year 1985 for the most successful in the career of Ştefan Negrişan. First, he was back in Leipzig Vice European champion at lightweight. Again refused him while Mikhail Prokudin the jump to the top of the podium. At the World Championships in Kolbotn but Negrişan succeeded in the final with a narrow points win the rematch against Prokudin. With this victory, he won the world title.

In the 1986 World Championship in Budapest Ştefan Negrişan had the same in the 1st round defeat by Claudio Passarelli of the Federal Republic of Germany and came to accept the final result still in 5th place.

Then he ended his international career Ringer.
