Stefan Read
Stefan Read ( born May 7, 1987 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a former Canadian ski jumper.
Career
Read won on March 2, 2004, the North American Juniors. In the season 2005/2006 he qualified with many jumping on the World Cup and made it several times in the second round. His best finish was a 23rd place while jumping on 28 January 2006 in Zakopane. Read participated in the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006 and was 30th on the large hill. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he retired with the qualification of the normal hill from 47th. From the large hill, he finished 46th place in the team competition and he reached 12th place after the Winter Games he ended his ski jumping career.
His uncle Ken Read is a well-known downhill skiers and his father Ron Read is head of the Canadian Ski Association.
