Stephen Gaghan

Stephen Gaghan ( born May 6, 1965 in Louisville, Kentucky, United States) is an American screenwriter and film director.

Filmmaking

Gaghan began his career in television; he wrote for the popular TV series The Practice and NYPD Blue.

With the thriller Rules - of Engagement Gaghan wrote in 2000 his first full-length feature film.

But only the films Traffic - power of the cartel (2000) and Syriana (2005) made ​​known Gaghan. For both films, he was nominated for an Oscar, both in the categories Best Original Screenplay ( Syriana ) as adapted for Best Screenplay ( Traffic - power of the cartel ).
