Stephen Patrick Hunt ( born August 1, 1981 in Portlaoise, Ireland) is an Irish football player. His brother Noel Hunt is also a professional footballer.

Career

Clubs

Hunt plays in midfield, he is 175 cm tall and weighs 79 kg. From 2001 to 2005 he played for Brentford FC. He played from June 2005 to 2009 at Reading FC. At the end of his contract he signed with Hull City and a year later at the Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He became famous when he met the unfortunate goalkeeper Petr Čech of Chelsea in a Premier League match on October 14, 2006 at the head, Čech fell with a skull fracture at the base of several months.
