Steve Corica
Christopher Stephen "Steve" Corica (* March 24, 1973 in Innisfail, Australia ) is a former Australian football player.
Club career
Start of career
Thus at first division club Marconi - Fairfield in 1990, he completed his first professional assignments. He became the regular player and was awarded in 1993 as the best young player of the season. After two more seasons to Corica decided to continue his career in Europe.
Abroad
Finally, he signed a contract with the then English second division club Leicester City. Only a year later he moved for £ 1.1 million to the Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he completed over 100 games to 2000. After spending a year in the J-League, he moved again to England for Walsall FC, before returning to Australia in 2004.
In Australia
After 10 years abroad, he signed a contract with Sydney FC in the A-League freshly founded. Together with Dwight Yorke, he led Sydney to the final of the championship, in which he scored the only goal of the game. Also at the continental level were his goals of immense importance for the club.
International career
Corica went through all the youth teams and also graduated from senior national team games. He participated in the Olympic Games with the Australian Olympic team in 1992 and 1996. 1992 got you here to the semifinals, missed a medal at the end but almost.
On April 16, 1993, he debuted at the match against Singapore in the Socceroos team. He played more than 30 games; participated in two Confederations Cups. He succeeded in 2006, again to complete an international match after more than five years of abstinence, in August 2006 against Kuwait.
