Steve Kaufman

Steve Kaufman; actually Steven Alan Kaufman ( born December 29, 1960 in Bronx, New York City, New York, † February 12, 2010 in Vail, Colorado ) was an American graphic artist, artists, filmmakers and representatives of the American Pop Art

Life

Kaufman attended from 1978 to 1981, the School of Visual Arts in New York. After graduating in 1982, he had a first joint exhibition of Keith Haring. During his studies he met Andy Warhol, who became his artistic role model for whom he worked as an assistant and with whom he was acquainted.

Kaufmann was involved in numerous social and charitable projects. He stood up for the interests of vulnerable people, for people with AIDS and against racial discrimination. His foundation " Give Kids a Break ", he supported underprivileged children and young people.
