Stina Nordenstam

Stina Nordenstam ( born March 4, 1969 as Kristina Marianne Nordenstam in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and musician.

Stina's distinctive, breathy voice led to early comparisons with artists such as Rickie Lee Jones and Björk. Their early albums Memories of a Colour and And She Closed Her Eyes were clearly influenced by jazz, with only subtle elements of alternative rock. The song Little Star of her album And She Closed Her Eyes was Romeo and Juliet ( Director: Baz Luhrmann ) used in the film. With their album Dynamite they trod 1997 a darker and more experimental way. The album was mostly filled with distorted electric guitars and unusual beats, but caring hearing also revealed her songwriting skills. There was a cover album, People Are Strange, before they Stina Nordenstam This Is 2001, an album with shorter and poppier songs, returned. Ex - Suede singer Brett Anderson occurs there in two songs on guest vocals. Their album The World Is Saved is 2004 the last album direction taken away, but sounded more natural and also shows their earlier jazz influences more strongly.

Except as Stina Nordenstam musician is recognized artistic in other fields, such as a photographer and as a music video director.

Nordenstam regarded as reclusive, are few interviews and rarely occurs live. For their album covers and magazine photos, she even changes by wigs and makeup her looks. During their promotion for The World Is Saved gave significantly more interviews than usual, and even considered the possibility of future live performances.
