Stornoway (Band)

Stornoway is a British indie band from Oxford.

Band History

The band was founded mid 2000 by four Oxford students. They made first publications, including the Good Fish Guide, a song that are listed in the Threatened and sufficient available fish species. The proceeds went to the Marine Conservation Society.

Her breakthrough had Stornoway, who was named after the Scottish island town of Stornoway, in 2009. During Big Weekend on BBC Radio 1 they were one of the headliners. In the BBC's Sound of 2010 forecast them the breakthrough for the following year was then predicted.

2010, they were represented at the Glastonbury Festival. To this end, they worked on their debut album Beachcomber 's Windowsill, which was released in June and peaked at number 14 on the charts. With the song Zorbing, that came from their first EP, they also had a hit single in the UK Top 75
