Stožok

Stožok ( until 1927 slovak also " Stožky "; Hungarian Dombszög - to 1888 Sztossok ) a town in central Slovakia with 952 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which is in Okres Detva, part of Banskobystrický kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located on the left bank of Slatina in the basin Zvolenska kotlina in the landscape Podpoľanie. The center is located at an altitude of 377 m nm and is six kilometers from Detva and 22 km away from Zvolen.

Default traffic Stožok can be reached via a branch of the state road 50, where also is the location of a bus stop, or via the railway station on the railway line Salgótarján - Vrútky.

History

The history of the place is relatively young, as it was only shortly after 1773 as a coherent place in the field of Herrschaftsguts Vígľaš, replacing a portion of the spread in the region of individual farms (Slovak regional lazy ).
