Geography

Strass im Straßertale lies on the eastern edge of the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the municipality covers 22.49 square kilometers. 45.43 percent of the area is forested. Approximately 570 acres are used for growing grapes.

History

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1465 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 1402 inhabitants, 1981 and 1420 in 1971, 1497 inhabitants.

Religions

The Strasser are almost all ( 89.8 %) are Roman Catholic. The second largest religion is Islam (2.5% ), followed by Protestants ( 0.8%). 6.2% of the population are without religious confession.
