Stříbřec

Stříbřec ( German Silberlos ) is a municipality in Okres Jindřichův Hradec in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 kilometers south-west of Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Stříbřec is located in a pond landscape on the western foothills of the highlands Javořická at the transition into the Trebon Basin. West of the town runs the Nová Řeka.

Neighboring towns are Pístina in the north, Příbraz in the northeast, Mníšek in the east, in the southeast Žíteč, Stara Hlína in the west and MLAKA in the northwest.

History

Stříbřec was first documented in 1415. Owners at the time was Čeněk Divuoček de Střiebrce. At the transition from the 15th to the 16th century Stříbřec, whose name derives from medieval Silberbau, the Rosenbergs belonged. Exchanged in 1508 Peter IV of Rosenberg places Stříbřec, Lutová and Chlum u Třeboně Konrad Kraiger of Kraigk against forests and the village Cep a. In the aftermath Stříbřec came to power Chlum u Třeboně and because of the damage caused by the Nová Řeka in the village, there were repeated differences with the Toeboo. After exhaustion of the silver deposit of iron ore was promoted and delivered to the hammers in Chlum.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Stříbřec Libořezy ( Liborsches ) Mníšek ( Mischek ) and Stříbřec ( Silberlos ).
