Studená (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Studena ( German Studein ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 21 km east of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Studena is located in the valley of the brook in the Studenský Javořická Highlands in southeast Moravia. North-east rises the 837 m high Javořice.

Neighboring towns are Domašín and Horni poles in the north, Horni Bolíkov and Sumrakov in the east, in the southeast Skrýchov, Horni Němčice in the south, Jilem the southwest, Palupín and Horni Dvorce in the west and Zahrádky in the northwest.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1365 in a purchase confirmation for Dietrich von Obratan, who acquired it from the Lords of Hradec. As Zacharias of Hradec bought 1558 Studena and his reign Telc struck, the place is a small town was already called. In the 18th century Studein belonged to the lords of Podstatský - Liechtenstein. After the replacement of patrimonial Studein became an independent municipality. At the end of the 19th century Selchwarenfabrik Satrapa which showed that in the first half of the 20th century, the meat group JASA arose.

Attractions

  • Studena Castle, built after 1365 as festivals, rebuilt at the end of the 16th century under Zacharias of Hradec Renaissance chateau.
