Styhead Tarn

The Styhead Tarn is a small lake in the Lake District, Cumbria, England. The Styhead Tarn lies at the northern edge of the Sty Head Pass, which connects the Borrowdale Valley with Wasdale.

The Styhead Tarn is located in a col that from Great Gable in the west and Seathwaite Fell is bordered to the east.

The Styhead Tarn receives water from several short tributaries and from the outflow of Sprinkling Tarn. The outflow of the lake is the Styhead Gill, who is one of the headwaters of the River Derwent.

With an average rainfall of 4,369 mm per year of Seathwaite Tarn considered as the place with the highest rainfall in the UK.
