The Sty Head Pass from Great Gable

The Sty Head Pass is a mountain pass in the Lake District, Cumbria, England. The pass is at an altitude of 488 m (1600 ft) and can be reached only on foot.

The pass connects the hamlet of Wasdale Wasdale Head and Wast Water in the south, with the hamlet of Seathwaite in Borrowdale in the north; it also make paths from Eskdale and Great Langdale on this pass.

The pass provides the ability to climb Great Gable and Scafell Pike and is also an important point of retreat in bad weather conditions, where there is also mountain rescue equipment is located.

The Styhead Tarn lies at the northern end of the pass.
