Stylidium graminifolium

Stylidium graminifolium is a plant of the genus shot plants ( Stylidium ) within the family of Stylidiaceae. It has the largest circulation area covers within its genus Stylidium, the Tasmania, Victoria ( Australia), New South Wales and South Australia.

Like all species of the genus, it produces digestive enzymes into the existing below the flower trichomes and is therefore assigned to the carnivorous plants.

Description

Vegetative characteristics

Stylidium graminifolium grows horst -like as a grass-like perennial herbaceous plant, reaching heights of growth of up to 60 cm. The basal leaves are 6-20 cm long and 4 mm wide.

Generative features

On an up to 40 cm high inflorescence stem stand together several flowers in a racemose inflorescence. The relatively small hermaphrodite flowers have a diameter of about 10 mm. The four or five petals are usually pink, sometimes white, while the fifth is bent back. The two stamens and style are fused to the touch-sensitive column.
