Action
The film is set in Welsh Swansea and draws a portrait of a fifteen- year-old boy on the edge of adulthood. The story of Oliver Tate combines illusion and knowledge, profanity and childish innocence to heartbreak and a funny result.
Oliver thinks he's cool and a poetic genius. In reality, he is socially maladjusted and only moderately popular with his classmates. However, he manages to win the heart of the same age Jordana. And he tries his virginity with her - before he is 16 - to lose. But when he arrives at the conviction that his mother is having an affair with her esoteric life coach, gets his happiness at risk. In his attempt to bring the family together again, the relationship with Jordana temporarily goes to pieces.
Production
The film was produced by Warp Films and Film4. Filming began on 26 October 2009 and ended in December. Andrew Hewitt composed the music and the musician Alex Turner of British band Arctic Monkeys, steered added five specially composed for the film songs.
Casting
