Sullivan Square (MBTA-Station)

Sullivan Square is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Charlestown, Massachusetts in the United States. The station provides access to the Orange Line and is also an important bus station.

History

On June 10, 1901, the Station Square Sullivan of the Boston Elevated Railway ( Bery ) was opened. She was architecturally sophisticated and was regarded as the crown jewel of the entire Bery system. The maintenance of the building has been neglected, so that the once magnificent structure after the closure of the Charlestown Elevated and the opening of the new, a few blocks further west station had to be demolished as part of Haymarket North Extension due to disrepair.
