Sulphur is a city ( with a status of "City" ) in Calcasieu Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. In 2010 Sulphur had 20,410 inhabitants.
The town's name comes from the fact that at the end of the 19th century sulfur (English: sulfur or sulfur ) has been found in the area, which led to the opening of many sulfur mines.
